3. Rolling Base Assembly

The Rolling Base is the standard mobility enhancement for the T.R.A.P., providing ease of transport during spectral containment operations. This section provides step-by-step instructions for assembling and operating the Rolling Base.

3.1 Parts List

Before you begin, ensure you have the following components and complaints are prep:

  • Rolling Base platform
  • 4 wheels
  • 2 Wheel axles (4, 6/32" x 5/8"  Socket cap screws and 4, 6/32" x 7/16" Socket button head)
  • 4 wheel caps
  • Vhook (2, 6/32" x 7/16"  Socket Flat Head screws)
  • Vhook Spacer
  • Track Dust Cover (Optional) (4, 4-40" x 1/4" socket cap screws)

3.2 Assembly Instructions

Wheel and Axle Assembly:

  • Slide a wheel onto each end of an axle.
  • Secure the wheels to the axle using the provided caps and 6-32" x 7/16" socket button head screws. Tighten the screws with the appropriate 5/64" hex bit.

Axle Installation:

  • Insert the assembled axles into the designated slots on the Rolling Base platform.
  • Secure the axles to the base using the provided 6-32 x 5/8" socket cap screws. Tighten the screws with the appropriate 7/64" hex bit.

V-Hook Assembly:

  • Place the V-hook spacer onto the designated location on the Rolling Base platform.
  • Position the V-hook on top of the spacer, aligning the holes.
  • Secure the V-hook and spacer to the base using the provided 6-32" x 7/16" socket flat head screws. Tighten the screws with the appropriate 5/64" hex bit

Track Duster Installation (Optional):

  • If you have chosen to include the Track Duster, attach the main bracket of the Track Duster to the Rolling Base platform using two 4-40" x 1/4" socket cap screws. Tighten the screws with the appropriate 3/32" hex bit.

  • Flip the base over. On the inside of the Track Duster bracket, sandwich the felt between the Track Duster and the felt brace using the remaining 4-40" x 1/4" socket cap screws. Tighten these screws with a 3/32" hex bit as we

3.3 Maintenance

This concludes the assembly of the Rolling Base for your T.R.A.P. Proper maintenance is essential to ensure the continued performance and longevity of this crucial component. By following these simple guidelines, you can keep your Rolling Base operating smoothly and efficiently for years to come.

Wheel Inspection: Regularly inspect the wheels for wear and tear, such as cracks, flat spots, or excessive tread wear. Worn or damaged wheels can compromise stability and maneuverability, potentially affecting the safe operation of the T.R.A.P.  during critical containment procedures. Replace any compromised wheels promptly with genuine T.R.A.P.  replacement parts to maintain optimal performance.

Cleaning and Care: Maintain the cleanliness of the Rolling Base by wiping it down with a damp cloth and mild detergent as needed. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Regular cleaning will not only improve the appearance of your T.R.A.P.  but also prevent the buildup of dirt and debris that can interfere with the Rolling Base's functionality.
