Desk
Every great workshop has a brain, and for us, that's the Desk. While other stations are for the hands-on chaos of cutting, welding, and assembly, this is the command center for all the glorious, mundane tasks that make a shop run. It's my home base for computer work, where I design the parts that will be built, and where I do all the image work and editing. It's the place where the magic of creation begins, where the blueprints for the chaos are first conceived, and where all the logistical work happens.
This isn't just a place for computers; it's a place for ideas. It’s where I can get lost in the world of design, where I can see a project in my head and bring it to life on a screen. It’s where I can edit a video, where I can answer emails, and where I can pay the bills. It's a place for all the necessary but unglamorous work that goes into a creative project. It's the quiet, but essential, anchor that ensures the creative side of the shop can keep running smoothly, linking the digital world of ideas to the physical world of the workshop.
It's also where the chaos of the workshop meets the order of a business. It's where I can take a step back from the dust and the noise and a moment to think. It’s a place for inspiration, for planning, and for all the necessary but unglamorous work that goes into a creative project. The Desk is a testament to the fact that every great project starts with an idea, and every great idea starts with a little bit of quiet.

So, I call this the Seed Table. The idea was to have a very large work surface, but while I don’t think I have any pictures of it in use, let me tell you—it was a giant catch-all and a terrible idea, at least for the way I work. So, it eventually got turned into a bunch of smaller tables, two of which would go on to evolve into the Build Table and the Desk.
